For airfare and hotels, it could cost you $7276 to visit South Florida and Disney for 11 nights. Or you could take an RV adventure, making exciting stops at landmarks, and experience The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

The cool thing about RVing is you can customize your schedule. Prefer national parks? Great! Want to see Dollywood? Make it happen. Choose between Presidential libraries, Major League ballparks, or anything else that piques your interest. Here is just one sample itinerary…

Day 1

2pm – Meet us at Rayewood RV in Sussex, NJ. We give you a demonstration on how to use the RV. When that’s done, you can leave your car at our office (free!) and begin your vacation.

You’re on your way. You want to make some progress on your trip before calling it a night, so your goal is to find a campground near Washington, DC. Good Sam has a search engine/ratings site for campgrounds.


Tonight, we’ll go with Cherry Hill Campground in College Park.

Day 2

After lunch, hit the road again, looking for a place a couple hours outside of Disney. For this trip, we chose delightful Savannah, Georgia, where you’ll spend the night at Red Gate Campground.

Day 3

Relax in the campground and take advantage of some of its amenities: horseback riding, fishing, nature trails, and more. Or take the trolley into Savannah and take a ghost tour. Spend a second night at the campground, and be ready to head out tomorrow morning around 9am for Disney.

Day 4

You’re on your way to Fort Wilderness! Check in time is 1pm, so no need to roll in too early.

Day 5

Here is advice on getting from Fort Wilderness to other parts of Disney. For today, take the ferry from Fort Wilderness to Magic Kingdom.

Day 6

Take the bus/monorail to Epcot.

Day 7

Take a bus to the Animal Kingdom.

Day 8

Take a bus or ferry/bus to Disney-MGM.

Day 9

Well, that was fun. It’s time to head home. It might be fun to hit a National Park on the way home, and we’ve heard great things about the Smoky Mountains. It’s a bit too far to drive in one day, so tonight, head towards Columbia, SC, and when you’re close, look for a rest stop where you can spend the night.

Day 10

After cooking up a nice breakfast, you’re on your way to the Smoky Mountain Premier RV Resort. Enjoy some of the nearby recreational activities: zip-lining, rafting, hiking, and more.

Day 11

You’ll want to find a campground that’s not too far from our office, that way you can have the vehicle back by 10am tomorrow morning. Perhaps you’ll enjoy a night at Indian Rock RV Park in Jackson, NJ.

Day 12

10am – You arrive back at Rayewood RV with lots of stories from a vacation down the East Coast to Disney World! Be sure to tell us your favorite moments, then unload the RV. When you’re all set, your car will still be parked there, ready to head home.
