But it doesn’t have to be that way. The Rayewood RV Service Department is offering a Ready For Spring Package. We’ll do a walk-through of your RV to test all the appliances. The package includes: Test the LP gas line for leaks, test fridge, stove, microwave, furnace, hot water heater. This should be done in February or March. Service Offering: Pack the Bearings On Your Trailer

Why do you need to pack the bearings every 2 years or 2000 miles? After a year of using (or sitting), condensation leads to rust. Rust leads to scratches. And scratches lead to friction and eventual bearing failure. To pack the bearings, you just jack up the axle and safely support it. Remove the wheel and tire. Remove the dust cap. Remove the cotter pin. Back the retaining nut off and wiggle the hub assembly to loosen the outer bearing on the axle. Remove the retaining nut, washer, and outer bearing. Slide the hub assembly off the axle stub. Clean the brake shoes, backing plate, and axle stub so they are ready for reassembly. Knock the inner bearing and grease seal out of the hub. However, Rayewood RV Service has found success using a combination of peppermint oil and water.This is sprayed inside the RV in places where mice tend to enter (under sinks, behind couches).Our service department now provides this. For $79, we will spray the interior of your RV with peppermint oil two times this winter. (One time for $39.50)We cannot guarantee that mice won’t visit.
